Wagoner's founding fathers were very far sighted in having platted a large area in the northeast part of the city as a park. In its earliest days, Maple Park served as a fairgrounds, including a race track. The park won national acclaim for its landscaping.
Today, the park is alive with activity - youth sports, family picnics, a children's playground and an extended, lighted walking trail. The centerpiece of the park in the summer is its water park facility, which has lots of wading area, a children's area, diving board, two fast-drop water chutes and two water slides.
The city also maintains a number of other, smaller parks throughout the city. |
Besides youth sports facilities, family picnic facilities and other amenities, Wagoner's Maple Park includes a water park
